Covid Update
Things are going well at GCC and we are lucky to be curling, let's not be the group that causes a shutdown. Just to reinforce some of our current policies:
- No spectators - this includes members
- The kitchen is closed - that means "do not enter the kitchen"
- The scoreboards are not to be used
Here is a new restriction from the Nova Scotia Curling Association:
Anyone residing or commuting to Metro Halifax who is a member of a club outside of Metro is not permitted to curl in that facility until December 9 or Public Health Guidelines permit.
Thank you for your continuing cooperation.
The following is required:
- Bartender for Valley Masters every 2nd Thursday afternoon starting Nov 12
Return to Play
Please note that as of 1 October 2020, the Province of Nova Scotia and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Strang, has announced that in a sports setting, groups of 50 do not need to physical distance. Curling can now operate normally while on the ice and the game can be played as usual -- no distancing required; two sweepers permitted; and sweeping behind tee line permitted. All other protocols in this document must be followed until further announcements are made. Quick summary:
- log in when you arrive
- masks on at all times except on the ice and at your table after the game
- sanitize rock handles before and after game
- scoreboard not to be used
- no spectators (this includes members who are not playing)
- sanitize your table and chairs before you leave
- kitchen closed
The bar will be open on league curling nights.
